“I have always been in love with beach balls. They are so graphic, simple and iconically summer. I have been dying to throw a party with a beach ball theme and my daughter’s August birthday seemed like the perfect time.
Just shy of 100 beach balls made this party come to life. I put a Palm Springs twist on it now that she’s a California girl. I elevated the menu adding gourmet spices and luxe cheeses. I worked in acrylic details and served champagne, there was even a bell for the pool boy (aka Daddy).
The cake I made was from an original recipe my mother made for me in 1991, so everything was that much more special.”
