Harry Potter Baby Shower

Calling all Hogwarts – this creative Harry Potter Baby Shower for a sweet, little muggle is pure magic!

If you’re planning a wizardly baby shower, bridal shower, or birthday party, this event is full of creative ideas.

Everything from the invitation to the Harry Potter-themed games, decorations, food, desserts, gifts, and favors were a nod to this mom-to-be’s favorite series.

This Harry Potter-themed baby shower included every fan’s favorite Harry Potter references from golden snitches to Hedwig owls.

Guests entered into the Harry Potter Baby Shower through none other than Platform 9 3/4 (a “brick wall” made from a shower curtain).

As guests arrived, the host had everyone write a note on a diaper to cheer up the soon-to-be parents during late-night diaper changes. What a fun and unique alternative to a baby shower guestbook!

Guests took their seats in the “Great Hall” at a table belonging to their House.

If guests weren’t sure what House they belonged to, cootie catchers on the tables would help them determine which House they were in so they could find their tables.

The decor was spot-on for this Harry Potter baby shower with floating candlesticks, color-coded tables, washcloth owls, potions, a Mandrake plant, flying keys, and a corsage for the mom-to-be made out of Harry Potter book pages! How fun!

With each House as a team, guests played games such as What’s In a Name, Baby Trivia, Count the Every Flavor Beans, and Baby Crossword (with a broomstick pen, of course!)

The lunch menu included Harry Potter fan-favorites, including Howlers, Huffle Puffs, Deviled Dragon Eggs, Leaky Cauldron Pie, Gillyweed Salad, PygmyPuff Sorting Hats, and Professor Sprout’s Herbology Garden.

The next round of games included Guess the Baby Food, Accio, and Mom’s Measurements.

Desserts on the dessert table were Ferrero Rocher Golden Snitches, tea and scones, Butterbeer, and chocolate frogs.

Make this easy Butterbeer recipe:

Family and friends showered mom-to-be with tons of great Harry Potter-inspired gifts for Baby Hendrie like a hand-crocheted Dobby hat, a Harry Potter diaper cake, a Little Muggle Milestone Tapestry, lots of great Harry Potter onesies (made with a Cricut machine), books, and tons more!

Finally, the host tallied up the games’ points to determine the winning House, just like in the Harry Potter books and movies.

The last activity was Pass the Prize, a poem to choose which guest at each table would get to take home the prize (which included a bottle of Butterbeer, a chocolate wand, and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans).

Before they left, guests took home a chocolate bar and a “potion” for their baths.
