30th Birthday on A Yacht
Birthday celebrations are not just for the little ones! Turning 30 is a big milestone and one that should be celebrated with style! This trendy, yet chic yacht party was more than your typical 30th birthday celebration! Let us take you on an adventure that the partygoers are still raving about! There is nothing like a 30th Birthday on a Yacht! All aboard!
Gold Leaf Event Design & Production orchestrated this amazing event and left nothing to be desired! It was a surprise birthday party and around 25 guests were invited to sail away on an 85-foot yacht off the coast of Palm Beach, Florida by the birthday girl’s husband. When the yacht docked, guests were than invited to an intimate, private dinner held at the infamous River House oceanfront restaurant.
Navy and deep purple, complimented by girly pinks, made everything feel festive and feminine, all while staying true to the theme of a nautical “getaway.” Gold Leaf Event Design & Production definitely focused on the birthday girl’s chic style and playful sense of humor. The natural light glistening off the ocean made for a tranquil ambiance. What could make it better?! A surprise fireworks extravaganza that kicked off the evening! WOW!
The birthday girl’s husband did a great job getting this surprise set up! He explained how she had been celebrating her birthday in Palm Beach for the past 15 years, but really wanted to do something new. And since it was a 30-year milestone birthday, it had to be exceptional! After brainstorming ideas, the nautical theme was definitely in everyone’s mind. Then inspiration hit … A Yacht! What could be better?!
Unbeknownst to the birthday girl, her closest friends flew in from around the country on her special day! She thought her and her husband were going out to dinner with her parents, but instead, a black stretch limo pulled up filled with her friends! She still wasn’t aware of where they were going, but was already so surprised by her friends’ unexpected arrival! She was completely taken aback once they arrived at the yacht and the photographer, Robert Perez Photography, was in the perfect position to capture the emotion and surprise! How sweet!
PALM BEACH YACHTS International helped coordinate the perfect yacht size and marina location. Ideas were then sent to It’s My Party Fine Stationary for paper goods and the perfect menu was then selected for the evening.
Baked Brie, lollipop lamb chops, crab cakes and shrimp, which were accompanied by Mayday Mojitos, awaited guests upon their arrival at the yacht, which was complimented by contemporary music. For dinner, guests were then treated with Crab meat Cocktail to start, followed by an option to make their own salad at a beautiful salad station, a choice of baked stuffed shrimp and sirloin, wood grilled chicken breast or Chilean sea bass, complimented by creamed spinach and steamed pencil asparagus.
A two-tiered, red velvet and chocolate nautical birthday cake provided by Adina’s Cakery was available for dessert, accompanied by Veuve Clicquot Rose. How perfect! It was one of the best parts of the entire evening! The cake had a soft pink and white “rope” detail that was a great way to tie it all together!
Dancing, laughter, and fun times were had by all. Being on the yacht was quite an activity within itself, so Gold Leaf Event Design & Production wanted to make sure they didn’t take away from that by planning side activities that would be distracting.
Favorites from the evening included the hot pink and nautical navy monogrammed mason jars with tops and straws that were found on Etsy. Perfect for sailing (and not spilling!). Unique paper goods included the celebratory invitations, exciting menus, place cards held in position with a nautical knot made out of rose, and an SOS birthday sign, zip-tied to hand from the back of the yacht, which were provided by It’s My Party Fine Stationary, and were perfect additions for the event.
One of the most special parts of the evening, however, was the fireworks display over the Atlantic Ocean. It was an excellent touch to keep all the guests fired up and ready for a night of fun!
This was one lucky birthday girl and her husband definitely provided a birthday she is likely to never forget! What a fun and unique celebration!
