From Courtney of Glamour Avenue Parties: I was contacted by my client Tonya to create a mermaid tea party for her daughter Sutton’s 5th Birthday. I was given creative liberty to bring Sutton’s love of mermaids and a dainty tea party to life!
One of Sutton’s favorite movies is “A Little Mermaid”, but my client Tonya didn’t really want “A Little Mermaid” party. Instead, she wanted a mermaid-inspired tea party with a pink, purple, and aqua color palette.
I created handmade mermaid wands using starfish, ribbon, and paper straws for a pop of color. To stay within the theme, I created a fun tablescape with seashells, starfish, netting, and everything you would need for a fun tea party. Other party details included an underwater themed dessert table and treasure chest with favors.
The girls colored mermaid coloring pages, made charm bracelets, had their nails painted, and were treated to a make up application in the party colors. The ‘little mermaids’ took home their starfish charm bracelets and other favors in little turquoise baskets, along with custom made mermaid tales.
