This Modern Beverly Hills Wedding combined both tradition and personal touches with a hint of glam! Luscious white florals, beautiful uplighting, a gorgeous bridal party, and picturesque venue made for the perfect day!
From the Bride: Since that day one, we have always felt that we fit right in with each other, regardless of where we came from. That’s how we approached our wedding: to show everyone just how much we love each other. Instead of going for a religious ceremony, we wanted it to be more personal to us, so we chose to do our own vows. We went for the “lush” garden-like feeling for the ceremony, to make it a very romantic ceremony (since we couldn’t get to Napa). For our reception, we definitely played off the main setting – SLS is a very modern and sleek hotel, so we chose to make the transition from the romantic ceremony to a sexy-like atmosphere for the dinner/party portion of the evening. Lots of white flowers, candles, and mood lighting was important. We kept it somewhat classy at the beginning with the band, and then danced the night away with the DJ. Also, in both of our cultures, food is a pretty big aspect. We incorporated that by placing Russian and Lebanese appetizers on the tables when the people first sat down, thus giving them a “taste” of both cultures. Our goal was to have a traditional wedding with touches of our own thrown on it. Also, we love our guests and wanted to leave with many mementos of them, which is the reason for the Polaroid idea: each guest took a picture of themselves and left it on a ribbon that we later framed at our house. After all was said and done, the reason I think people said the wedding was “so us” – was because of these personal touches.
