DIY Backyard Wedding

A gorgeous California day, beautiful florals custom-made by the bride, and the family feel of home set the tone for this sweet DIY backyard wedding.

“There is something so relaxed and welcoming about a backyard wedding. I knew as soon as I read Athalia’s first email about what they were envisioning for their big day that this wedding was going to be stunning! Athalia’s family owned a flower shop and she grew up designing florals envisioning what she would do on her wedding day. With all the hard work that a DIY wedding entails, she personally created each floral arrangement, bouquet, and boutonniere! These two worked so hard pulling this day together,” Laura said.

“We arrived to the sounds of giggles and silly string as the children kept themselves entertained as the final preparations were underway. The house smelled of an amazing Italian cuisine as the chef began dinner and the sounds of the musical duet filled the air. It was time. Their big day had finally arrived. They had a dream wedding day surrounded by their family and friends.”

The DIY rustic details and green and neutral colors make this outdoor wedding so simple, yet elegant. Long reception tables add drama to the space and modern menu cards with square plates give the tables a clean look. Outdoor lights were strung across the long tables and gave it that festive, party atmosphere. What a pretty outdoor wedding!
