Hello My Sweet is sharing their son’s 3rd birthday on a budget! The Cinco de Mayo themed birthday party was unique in that everything except for the food was purchased at a dollar or discount store. With 20 guests and a total decorating cost of $41.95 with tax, I would say that’s one budget-friendly fiesta!
Some details to note were the fringe tissue paper garland, cute aluminum trays, sombreros, paper flags, ribbon cake stand skirt, and a colorful number pinata. Most, if not all, of the items for the party were purchased from Dollar Tree.
Here is the break-down of non-edible items:
Dollar Store: ($1 each)
Tissue Paper & Cellophane – $7 – cost split between the DIY Garland and DIY Pinata
Kraft Paper – $2 – to cover the tables
Ribbon – $6 – for the DIY Cake Stand Skirt
Cutlery, Plates, Cups – $8
Salsa Bowls & Chip Bowls – $4 (2 for $1 on the salsa bowls, four total)
Aluminum Trays – $5
Pinata Candy – $4
Big Lots:
Paper Flags – $1.50
IKEA:
Straws – $1.50
Total cost with food around $100!
