MINILAND

MINILAND Philadelphia is an interactive display of the City of Philadelphia in the Discovery Center that is made of nearly 1.5 million LEGO bricks. It took a team of 20 expert LEGO model builders approximately six months to create MINILAND. MINILAND contains more than 50 models of iconic area landmarks and hundreds of LEGO figures. Every five minutes MINILAND completes a day to night cycle, with the models, illuminated as appropriate.

  • LEGO Racers: Build & Test: Let your imagination take over as you build your vehicle and take it to the ramps. Test your car and see how you can make it go faster! Once you have built the ultimate race car, time its speed on the test track. With times recorded to the hundredth of a second, it might be a close competition between you and your friends!
  • DUPLO® Park: Little builders can let their imaginations loose in the DUPLO® Park. Build a colorful DUPLO flower for the farmer’s garden, climb up a small hill and slide down the other side, or play on the special, big, soft bricks.
  • Earthquake Tables: Visitors can build their own LEGO skyscrapers and see if it can survive the shaking earthquake stimulating tables.

  1. Oh my– we’ve been looking at taking a trip here for our oldest’s birthday coming up! How fun! We’re near Pittsburgh, so it would be a fun little vacation!

  2. I’ve wanted to take the boys to Legoland when it was only in Texas and New York but now that its in Philadelphia, I HAVE to get them there! 🙂

  3. We recently moved away from Plymouth Meeting (5 minutes from the mall!), so we’re bummed that we missed the convenience of having it minutes away. My 4yo son is a LEGO fanatic, and we’re planning a trip out that way this summer!

  4. My kids cannot wait to check out all of the exhibits! They are huge LEGO fans. Thanks for the chance!
