Hello Kitty Birthday Party

Hello Kitty has been a favorite among young girls for years. And it’s still a popular party theme as well! Jennifer of Events by Pink Elephants and Lemonade started planning the party for her daughter months ago. She scoured Pinterest for ideas and inspiration and when it was party time everything turned out perfectly!

The party, held at their home in the Netherlands, featured a color palette of white and an assortment of pinks. There were 10 guests in attendance. Her daughter, Julia loves Hello Kitty so once the theme was set, Mom starting shopping! She picked up some party supplies at a big party store when she was visiting Canada.

Mom made the coordinating bunting for the party and mom and dad got together and made the pin the bow on the Hello Kitty game, which the kids absolutely loved! The kids also colored bookmarks and then had them laminated to take home.

Lots of yummy treats were served at the party. A treats table was filled with an assortment of pink candies. There was also white and pink meringues, pink sugar wafer cookies, a pink cake, hot pink mini cakes (traditional Dutch party treat), rose cupcakes, and custom Hello Kitty cookies. They also added some strawberries to the mix!

The butterfly pinata was an absolute hit with the kids since they are not very common at parties in the Netherlands. Only 1 out of the 10 guests ever hit one before!!! The kids also played dance/freeze tag in the backyard. When the party was over, the kids left with Hello Kitty notebooks, paint, pencils and barrettes. How fun!
