Natalie Stern of Katarina’s Paperie has a fun Halloween tutorial to share with us today. She has created jack o’lantern treat pouches to deliver small candies and other treats on Halloween night. Natalie focuses on creating DIY projects that the whole family can do together. She believes that by creating a party together, families make lasting memories and have a lot of fun in the process. This project is no different. The kids can participate right along with you to make these adorable little pumpkin favors.
You Will Need:
Orange Tissue Paper
Green Pipe Cleaners
Scissors
Small Wrapped Candies or Other Treats
Black Cardstock
Directions:
1. Count out two rectangular panels of orange tissue paper from a large sheet and cut out, keeping them together as one piece. Fold the panels in half and cut into two pieces.
2. Layer the two pieces on top of each other. Put the small wrapped candies and treats into the center of the tissue paper.
Gather the tissue paper into the center, creating a little pouch.
3. Wrap green pipe cleaner around the gathered tissue paper.
Cut off any excess tissue paper.
4. Draw a pumpkin face onto black cardstock. Cut out the face pieces.
Glue the pieces onto the front of your pumpkin to make a jack o’lantern.
You can give these adorable little pumpkins as treats on Halloween night or save as a party favor for guests to take home. It’s a wonderful project that the family can work on together and have a lot of fun with. I can just imagine all of the creative faces the kids will come up with!
