I’m a new user of Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® products and was pleasantly surprised to find that they make a variety of household products that don’t have a harsh chemical smell, but are tough on the dirt and grime in my home. Now that I’m a mother, I don’t want to use products that have a harsh chemical smell. Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® products are made with essential oils from flowers and herbs that smell nice, are earth-friendly, and cruelty-free and not tested on animals. Their products have garden fresh scents including Lavender, Lemon Verbena, Basil, Geranium and many others.

I also love their hand and body products. Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® hand soap is made with a blend of natural essential oils for a soap that is environmentally friendly. It smells great, works hard, and doesn’t leave your hands dry. Their lemon dish soap is also a favorite of mine. Their concentrated lemon dish soap formula for hand washing dishes includes Soap Bark Extract, another ingredient from the garden that is one of nature’s best degreasers.

mr-meyers-clean-productsMrs. Meyer’s Clean Day®  is inspired by the joy of homemaking. The company’s founder, Mrs. Thelma A. Meyer, wanted to make cleaning more pleasant, because we all know, it’s something that has to be done! That’s the goal behind all of her products. Whether it’s our homegrown inspiration from your backyard or a DIY project, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® wants to know about the home you’re making. The holidays are quickly approaching and I love decorating my home for Christmas. Between the lights, colors, and decor, I go all out to make my home as festive as possible for my family. I also LOVE DIY projects! Since I’m already in the holiday spirit, I wanted to make a fun and easy DIY chalkboard Christmas countdown for my home. I decorate my home in the traditional red and green colors for Christmas, so I got a pretty red charger plate, some chalkboard paint, and a festive bow to make a nice piece for my home. Check out how to make your very own DIY Chalkboard Christmas Countdown!

What you will need:
  • Charger plate
  • Plate stand
  • Chalkboard paint
  • Paint brush
  • Bow
  • Tape
  • White Paint Marker
  • Chalk
How to make it:

Step 1: Apply 2 to 3 coats of chalkboard paint to the center of charger plate. Let dry between coats.

Step 2: Add your holiday bow to the top of the charger plate. My bow had a floral wire, so I just used tape to attach the wire to the back of the plate.

Step 3: With the white paint marker pen, write Days Until Christmas at the bottom of the charger plate. You can also write Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Cookies For Santa, etc.!

Step 4: Add the charger plate to a black holder and add your countdown with chalk.

  1. Nice! I love chalkboard art. I should try this to help my girls learn how to count backward. I love Meyer’s too – my favorite nontoxic cleaner!

  2. I love this! I have actually tried doing this already… how did you get your edges so perfect? Did you use painters tape? Thanks!!

    1. Thanks Haley! I used one of those sponge brushes. It seemed to work pretty good. But you can wipe off any mess before it drys too!
