Who couldn’t help but plan the most perfect 1st birthday party for this cute little guy?! And you know it had to involve lots of fun, so what better theme to choose than a Cat in the Hat First Birthday Party.
Long before the birthday boy turned 1 in September 2011, the wheels in mommy’s head were turning on what exactly she would do to celebrate this awesome milestone. The Cat in the Hat is the theme that she ran with and she loved the idea of the red color palette that would go along with it. It took a lot of planning, but was well worth every second! The possibilities were endless since they live near New York City, so where to begin?
First plan of action? Call Aramat Events and have them plan the party of her dreams for the little boy of her dreams. They did a great job of running with the idea and were able to plan everything perfectly down to the very last detail. They started by figuring out what venue would hold this exciting event and OPM Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY ended up be the perfect spot.
Next, a photo shoot was scheduled with Lasting Memories Photography in order to capture this picture-perfect family’s awesome personality. Mom wanted to create images that would serve as wonderful memories, as well as to add fun decorations around the venue on the day of the event. The results? Oh my goodness, can you say photogenic?! Plenty of pictures were taken with wonderfully unique concepts and were, indeed, displayed at the birthday party. It was a great way to take away a remembrance of this special moment in time and allowed the family to be silly and fun And it’s just obvious to see the true love that they all share with each other!
Finally, the big day arrived! Approximately 100 guests were in attendance and the Cat in the Hat was one of the biggest guests of the hour (except for the Birthday Boy, of course!). Decorations were tastefully placed everywhere and the dessert table also showed a wonderfully festive Cat in the Hat inspired cake! If only Dr. Seuss could see how his brilliant children’s book was personified into this party for himself! And The Man of the Hour looked super dapper in his sweet little tux! The whole family was dressed impeccably!
To honor the birthday boy at this amazing celebration, photos of him, including this cute one, were displayed at the party for all to see! Long tables included exquisite red candles placed on candelabras, which created drama throughout the room.
Food for the event included sushi, salads, and meats, which were all catered through OMP Restaurant. And of course, desserts included the fabulous Cat in the Hat cake, along with an assortment of fruits, which were arranged through Aramat Events.
How amazing is this cake?! The cake was to die for! It was an exact replica of the Cat in the Hat himself, and included even more details, like Thing 1 and Thing 2, along with perfect little flowers and candle pops around the cake. It was perfect!
Guests were treated to a wonderful funny family movie that was put together especially for the event, along with super creative concepts all around the party. Special place cards were designed for each guest, and The Cat in the Hat himself even showed up for a special appearance! Not to mention some creative “Things” who were a hit with the kids by making fun shapes with balloons.
After all was said and done, mom was asked about her favorite elements of this creative party. She instantly raved over the centerpieces on each table, the photos around the venue of the family from their earlier photo shoot, and of course, the perfect cake.
As they like to say, enjoy all the milestones for all of the little ones in your life while you still have the precious time with them. It all goes so fast during the first year of a baby’s life and before you know it, they’re all grown up! It’s such a great feeling to be able to celebrate that first year with friends and family and to watch how the birthday boy interacts with the guests. The family had a wonderful time putting this event together for their little tyke and the results were magnificent!
