Candy Cane Martini

candy-cane-martini-recipeThe holidays are rapidly approaching, and before you know it we’ll be putting out milk and cookies for the big guy himself. If you’re like me, you still have parties to plan, a mile-long list of gifts to buy, and of course that tree isn’t going to decorate itself!

holiday-martini-recipeThough the holidays are a time for magical family moments and (slightly off-key) caroling, let’s face it – this time of year can also be a bit overwhelming. Every year, I vow to do things differently, to make time for myself. That’s hard to do though when you’re stuck in a 2 hour-long line just to snag the “it” toy of the season, or when you’re up until midnight wrapping and assembling that toy. (Seriously, Toys R’ Us would make a fortune if they offered gift wrapping services!)

candy-cane-martini-holiday-recipeWhen the gifts are all neatly tied with red bows, and the festive parties have come to an end, there’s a few quiet moments to enjoy all to yourself. A rare time to unwind and relax before the next round of holiday festivities begin. What would your ideal holiday “me time” include? A good book? A sappy Christmas movie? Maybe snuggled up by the fireplace with your four-legged pal? Those all sound wonderful, but there’s one thing missing … a martini!

Candy-Cane-Martini-holiday-drinkThis Candy Cane Martini is sure to keep you in the holiday spirit all season long. Each sip has a rich chocolately flavor with a hint of sweet peppermint. My favorite part is the festive candy cane rim on the martini glass. This is the perfect drink to sip on during your quiet relaxing evenings at home this holiday season.

If you want to wow your guests at your next festive shindig, shake up a batch of these peppermint party pleasers. One sip and they’ll be rockin’ around the Christmas tree all night long!
