Blue and Green Train Party

From Kelli of K Customables: Shorty after Carter’s first birthday, he developed a true love for trains.  Choosing his second birthday party was a breeze because his favorite toys were trains and his favorite activity was going to the mall to ride the trackless train. I wanted to choose colors that were bright, boyish, and easy to find matching supplies. I went to Party City and picked out blue and green from their solid tableware supplies and began designing the Blue and Green Train Party. This year, I saved money on the food by ordering pizza, so I could splurge and rent an actual trackless train to come to our house! The look on his face was priceless. Carter stayed on the train for two hours straight! Adults and children alike had a great time and lots of laughs when riding the train through our neighborhood. The favors included conductor hats, train whistles, and Grandma Pam’s famous sugar cookies. I made a homemade cake stand using cake board, styrofoam, and ribbon. I also made a matching wreath for the front door using table clothes cut into 3 x 3 inch squares attached to a straw wreath. I also made the cupcakes and a simple round cake that I lined with matching gumballs.
